Blackstone on Panel for Real Estate Forum

Blackstone Consulting’s Stephen Manelis will be a panelist at IMN’s 3rd Annual Real Estate General Counsel Forum, on September 30-October 1, 2013 in New York, NY.

The conference will showcase the current issues & challenges in-house real estate law professionals are confronting, and the strategies and tools they are employing to meet these challenges.

Mr. Manelis will be participating in the Managing Environmental Risk—Implementing Protections for Owners, Operators, and Lenders session.  This session will identify and focus on implementation of comprehensive protocols, steps, and measures to protect owners, operators, tenants, and lenders, and to ensure that they are released or protected from, are not exposed to, or that any exposure is minimized and managed, in connection with the purchase, sale, lease, or financing of real property.  Development of comprehensive risk management programs requires reliance upon established diligence protocols, state and federal statutory and regulatory defenses, state brownfield and voluntary cleanup programs, state transfer laws, and/or environmental insurance, in addition to strategic negotiation of a variety of transaction documents by one or both of the parties.  This session presents a very practical approach to developing comprehensive environmental risk management program for those invoiced in real property transactions, utilizing real-life examples to illustrate.
