POSITION: Project Assistant – Structural/Seismic Consulting Group

In addition, Blackstone provides asset management consulting, insurance claims support, pre-foreclosure consulting, and site development & project monitoring services for owners and facility managers. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Blackstone Consulting LLC is seeking an energetic project assistant to work with our nationwide structural engineering and seismic risk practice group, based in San Francisco, California. The qualified candidate would report directly to the Director of Structural Engineering and would be responsible for a wide range of technical and administrative duties, including seismic risk reports, business development, marketing, proposals, and support for structural design projects. The ideal candidate is high functioning, organized and works effectively in a team. The ability to learn new processes with excellent note-taking skills is highly desirable. The position provides a unique opportunity to learn about seismic risk in the United States and the commercial real estate investment and lending industries. Our clients include building owners, lenders, real estate investors, government agencies such as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, architects and developers.
DAY-TO-DAY PROJECT ASSISTANT DUTIES:
  • Project Coordination – Coordinate with clients and the structural group to plan and schedule real estate due diligence consulting projects.  Duties include project setup, property evaluation scheduling, reporting, and report delivery to the clients.
 
  • Proposals – Assist in generating and tracking proposals for new consulting projects, including seismic risk assessments and structural design projects with architects and owners.
 
  • Marketing and Business Development – Work with the structural group to identify new business opportunities and reinforce existing client relationships.  Attend client meetings and marketing functions periodically to develop relationships.
 
  • Technical Standards and Operating Procedures – Assist in the development, refinement, and editing of structural group technical standards and operational procedures to increase efficiency for current work demand and prepare for future expansion in current and new markets.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited university
  • A minimum of 2-years work experience in a office setting is desired
