Senior Environmental Professional (Due Diligence)

LOCATION: Southeastern US (Atlanta, Orlando, Charlotte, Raleigh)  This is a remote home office position.
Blackstone Consulting LLC (Blackstone) is a rapidly growing national consulting firm that is experiencing exponential growth, and we are looking to augment our team of talented individuals. Blackstone is looking for dynamic and energetic professionals who welcome the opportunity to join our highly respected Environmental Due Diligence Consulting team.  The senior staff-level individual we are seeking will have solid Phase I ESA and related consulting experience.
Senior Due Diligence Services Project Manager:
  • Perform Peer Review of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for equity acquisitions
  • Perform Peer Review of Phase I ESAs in accordance with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae lending protocols
  • Prepare proposals for ESA Phase I and Phase II work and environmental consulting scopes of work
  • Assign, train, and manage ESA Staff as needed
  • Represent Blackstone to the client in person and onsite in a professional manner
  • Perform other consulting project duties as assigned
  • Provide Technical Advice – Contribute to the development of conclusions and recommendations for assigned projects. Provide feedback to other project team members, project managers, and Client Manager as needed.
  • Extensive and in depth knowledge of Federal and State regulatory programs related to hazardous waste, air, stormwater, wastewater, USTs, and landfills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact and technical report review;
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple project assignments;
  • Ability to manage and mentor other junior level scientists in the development of projects.
Position Requirements:
  • Experience in performing Phase I ESAs in accordance with current ASTM E1527-13 Standard and with limited asbestos and radon sampling
  • Infrequent regional travel and/or field work (valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required)
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients and subcontractors
  • Able to work with minimal oversight, but take direction from senior managers
  • Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally
  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification or ability to obtain such certification
  • Phase II Subsurface Investigation experience is also required.
  • Professional Registration is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geology, Engineering, or related environmental/engineering field experience (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in leading technical activities directly related to Due Diligence/Phase I ESA activities, including senior review, client management, report writing and field investigation.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities
  • Required knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages (Microsoft Office, Adobe)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft O365 and SharePoint preferred
